Home Organization in Harrisburg
Tips for Home Organization in Harrisburg
When it comes to getting around to home organization in Harrisburg, every person is different. Some people are clutter-bugs who collect anything and everything and have a hard time letting go. Some people just need help with that messy family room. Just about everyone has the dreaded “junk drawer.” Whatever your level of clutter, there are some basic tips that help turn that clutter in to a much more organized space.
Find an open place to sort away from the area you are cleaning. Put items into “keep,” “throw away” and “donate/yard sale” piles. After the room is completely clean, go back to that “keep” pile and sort it again. Do you really need that wrinkly-dog statue cluttering up your newly cleaned study? I didn’t think so. Put it in the donate pile. After going through the “keep” pile again, now put what you really need to keep back into the room. You will be amazed at how much less clutter you have now.
Sometimes it can be hard to determine if something is “keep” or “donate.” If you really can’t decide about that wrinkly-dog statue, ask yourself “when was the last time I used this?” or “does this really need to be taking up space?” or “does this really go with the décor in this room?” Whatever your answers and whatever your decision, own your choice. If you keep it, that is fine, but if you get rid of it, walk away and don’t look back.
There are many ways to do home organization in Harrisburg, but these are just a few ideas to get started.
Hi. My daughter & I live in a 2 bedroom depth oh housing unit & are gradually being pushed out by all of the “stuff” we have. I try to get on top of it but just never seem to get there. How do I start?
Thanks for your question. To help with the overwhelm just do a little bit at a time. Start with a drawer then stop. Next time do another drawer then stop. If you start in small chunks it will build up your momentum. If you try to tackle a whole room at once it will be too overwhelming and you will give up. Also do you have a friend or family member who can help? An extra pair of hands makes all the difference. Plus the added encouragement is a great booster.
